Our Flock Rocks!

A Wise O.W.L. in room 264 is someone who proudly wears the wise O.W.L. medal earned as an "Outstanding, Wonderful Learner".
Students who demonstrate strong effort, active involvement and deep thinking during instruction "clip up" and move to a higher level on our Wise Owl chart. Here's how it works:
Everyday students start out their day "ready to learn" and "in the nest" (in the middle of the chart)
During the course of the day, clothespins move up or down depending on the choices the student makes. If a student does end up on the WISE OWL level, it’s because he or she earned it and actually got there by being a responsible, productive student. Once that level is reached, the student is invited to choose and wear a Wise O.W.L. medal from the hook in the front of the room. (hopefully to be worn for the remainder of the day- unless he or she "clips down" to a lower level and loses the privilege)
*Any student who has been asked to move his or her clothespin down a level or two—has the opportunity to improve his or her behavior and see his or her clothespin rise to a higher level.
Students even have the opportunity to move beyond the Wise O.W.L. level. If that happens, they are considered to be "flying high" or even "off the charts" and their clothespin is clipped onto a necklace worn proudly by Mrs. Cichocki -showing off her beautiful "bling"!
When the day is over, or just before a new day begins, a classroom helper resets all of the
clothespins to the "In the Nest and Ready to Learn" level.
Students that need encouragement know that :
What’s past is past. The slate has been wiped clean.
Tomorrow is a new day. Make it a good one.
