Parents as Partners in Education
last updated 8.3.18
Communication between home and school is vital to your child’s success in the classroom. Thank you in advance for your ongoing participation and contributions. Throughout the year, I will be continually updating our classroom website. Please check back often to find what you need! The website is just one vehicle of communication for us to use to keep the lines of communication open.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Mr. Partisano and I will be sitting down to review any information shared on the conference confirmation sheet prior to our conference so we can make the best use of our time together.
Plastic Folders
To keep you informed and aware of what we are doing in class, and to streamline the amount of papers that come home in your child’s take home folder each evening, I plan to send home a plastic folder with work your child has completed in all areas of the curriculum as well as notices from the Parkdale office, PTO community and school news every Tuesday.(sometimes it could be a Wednesday -in which I call it a "Wenvelope!) Your child will also bring home papers and homework assignments in their take home folder each evening.
Please take time to review and discuss these items with your child. Keep the papers unless otherwise noted and have your child return the empty folder to me no later than Friday. If there is a paper that come homes with the top right-hand corner snipped off, that is a signal to you that the paper needs to be signed and returned.
Student Planner
Students have been given a daily planner housed inside their binder to bring back and forth from home to school to use to practice time management and organization.
- At school , I will model on the smartboard and walk the children through the process of entering all dates, assignments and activities.
- It is expected that the children keep their planner with them when going back and forth between Mr. P's and Mrs. Cichocki's classroom.
- At home we would like parents to initial the planner each evening so students get in the habit of checking their planner at regular times.
