What does it take to be a "Lucky Duck" for a Day?
Students in room 264 are striving to be "their best" as classroom citizens! Everyday, Mrs. Cichocki chooses a random student (their identity is kept secret until the end of the day). She also randomly picks one of six cards that has a specific expectation written on it. They cover items such as: organization, staying on task, following directions, planner completion and independence. Through careful observation throughout the day, the lucky duck needs to be able to show their good citizenship and deliver on the specific expectation that was selected. At the end of the day, the lucky duck is revealed through the process of elimination. All children stand. Mrs. Cichocki gradually narrows down the number of children standing (ex. "if you are wearing red, sit down") until the last person standing is the LUCKY DUCK! The following day, they get to wear our really cool Lucky Duck T shirt with pride the entire day! If the child that was selected in the morning did not meet the criteria, a new random student is selected and Mrs. Cichocki privately lets the child that was originally selected know why they missed becoming the lucky duck.
